XBOX 360 not connecting.

I have been at this for 2 days now and it has finally beaten me.

I have tried everything within my severely limited brain all to no avail.

360 picks up hard wired connection, and "confirms" everything until it gets to xbox live then fails

Any ideas troops as my kid is doing my head in

Sometimes happened to me, usually a reboot of the router solves it, as its usually after a dropout it has problems.

Is the 360 set to "Obtain IP automatically" & "obtain DNS automatically"?

Do you have UPnP enabled or disabled in the router?


UPnP can cause disconnection issues for some people (Sky User - The unofficial support forum for everything Sky! How to fix common causes of disconnections).

If you have UPnP disabled, then you need to give the 360 a manually assigned static IP instead (& specify the router's IP as the DNS & the gateway for the 360), & use the router's admin interface to then manually forward the relevant Xbox Live ports to that IP.

Has my kid modded his box or more to the point am I down £40 for the Gold Subs

Sc0tsman, I couldnt get onto XBL all day yesterday, So that could of been why.

Are you getting error, 0x8015190DL? As that means (afaik) its been banned for being Modded and anything other then it could be something else.

There was an article on the net stating last year there were around 10,000 consoles banned for being modded and a few of those just happened to be by error, So if you can, Speak to the XBL Team or ask your son beforehand.

As you downgraded the firmware on your drive or chipped the box, Xbox live can see when you go online that it's "modded" and they ban your hardware... as far as i know you won't be able to play online again!
