Gaming on SKY is a no go!

Anyone who is a gamer on the PC or Console, and is considering a move to SKY or is currently with SKY. It is terrible for gaming, very high pings, and even if you get through to Tier 3, your pings will be lowered by 10 - 15 maximum!

On average pings for gaming on skybb is 40-60 which don't cause any real problems, in fact we have our own gaming clan http://www.skyuserclan.co.uk with loads of skybb users and they all enjoy playing,

do you have anything running in the background that maybe making your ping higher?

I play world of warcraft,lord of the rings online and other MMO's and since the switch to Sky the pings and latency have dropped and the game runs faster overall. And on Xbox live I have had no problems either.

I played Burnout Revenge for the first time online Friday and didn't experience any problems whatsoever and my ping is usually from 35-75...

As satdish says we play mainly bf2142 online and personally my ping is in the low to mid 30s. This gives me no problems whatsoever. If I were to run other programs in the background such as dl then this has an obvious effect so when I'm gaming all that I have running is the game.

Hi I play black hawk down online, if I play on british servers will get a ping of around 40-100+.

play on Norway servers get abt 35-79 for the ping

USA servers get about 203-375 but got as low as 150 sometimes for the ping

I usually get around 60 and around 100 on US server. Been fine for gaming, even during peak hours !

I get pings of about 60 on Xbox LIVE, and on my old ISP I used to get 35. That is a huge difference when playing competively. I just wish SKY had FASTPATH!!!

I play Eve Online and while I was getting a ping of 50 last night it seemed laggy and none of my other Corp mates reported any lag.

Still need to do some investigating before I can lay the blame at Sky though.

Hi, I have just been upgraded from Sky connect to Mid package.

I am an on-line gamer and since the change my pings have upped from 15-30ms to 75-95ms, and I am getting out gunned in game and it sooo annoying!
