my parents and a friend are on virgin and bt and both get good pings. looking for a decent package (8mb with 10+gb dld) but will happily pay the money so i can actually use it!!

Re: who is best for gaming?
well wireless and gaming have gone in the same sentence for me before, and the majority of people i play with. i know it doesnt help, but its no worse than the extension lead that would be required otherwise, and even just going back to how i was before i made the stupid decision of joining sky would be an improvement and that was on wireless

Have you looked at www.seriouslyinternet.com , i was with them for a short time and they can get a bit expensive (up to £30 a month maximum) but never had a problem with them and are sympathetic to gamers.

Re: who is best for gaming?
I moved to IDNet from Freedom2surf 18 months ago when they introduced "shaping" and the speeds went so low i was lucky to get 500Kbps, this was on a 2Mb connection.
I am now on a 8mb connection with IDNet and get very good speeds.
IDNet Customer Support has to be the best out there, they even phoned me on the first day to see how my connection was.
If you ever need to talk to them the phone is always picked up quickly and theres no hanging around in a queue listening to that awful music.
A great ISP with a one month contract great speeds and gaming pings and a Customer Support team that actually value you as a customer.

Re: who is best for gaming?
I'd say sky are the best for me for gaming, As get 20ms and no packet loss on CS:S i'd say for £10 a month , Great service. As long as your line is decent enough of course, if it isnt then the only other option would be virgin as they dont use telephone lines.
Regards
A very happy gamer on max.
