Microsoft starts Banning 360's from live
It had to happen, with the amount of people modding the firmware on thier 360's DVD drive to play backup (yer right, more like downloaded) games on thier 360, microsoft have finally taken action and have started banning Modified Consoles from thier Live service..

Modding is more trouble than its worth in my opinion.

Thats too bad, but at the same time, not fair for those who bought the games and pay to play. But im pretty sure someone out there will be able to trick the Live banning program....Lots of people have too much free time

i dont aggree with you there if you get it done by the right person its well worth having it modified even to play foreign games which normally you wouldnt be able to play i had my xbox chipped years ago and it was the best thing i ever did by the way i dont own a 360 so i wouldnt know what the deal is with that

So you think it's a bad thing that modded 360s have been banned from Xbox Live, to stop cheaters using illegal copies online?
Agree with you, for the old Xbox.
I had my original Xbox modded so I could play US games & R1 DVDs, plus use the excellent "Xbox Media Centre" to play divx/xvid etc. Still use it, too.
No point modding the 360, though. All it allows is the playing of "backups" (i.e. pirate games). No homebrew, unfortunately, unlike the old Xbox.
