Lag on Online Games

Hi all.

I recently got rid of my AOL and changed to Sky Broadband. Ive had it installed or about 3 weeks now and surfing the net etc is fine however gaming is not. one of the main uses is to play online gams. i mainly play an online game called Enemy Territory. My ping is fine for just over a minute then i will lag out for a few secods and come back. This happens about every 1min30 secs which is obviously annoying.

Anyone else had this problem or any ideas how to get rid of it?

Amazingly we changed from AOL to SKY about three weeks ago and my sons use it most for online games. They get the exact same affect as you also playing Enemy Territory, so you are not alone.
Sadly though, I am none the wiser as to what causes it or how to cure it.

Have you got any processes running in the background. This happened to me once. I can't remember what it was to be honest but once I turned the process off in task manager it stopped the problem.

try unistalling ur game and reinstalling it

Save yourself the bother of uninstalling and instead do a search for the word "ping" and read some of the threads.

My connection is being so annoying today.
Cant connect to anyone today even though ive got my highest ever download speed.
Pinged bbc and got 87, so i dunno whats up, Noise is about 12 so thats quite low for what ive used to, so i guess thats it.
