back to the original posting.......
I would love to know how the PS3 fairs when it comes to hooking it up to your network, so if you do suceed then please post back.
One of the reasons I want a PS3 is that I want to stream music and vid from my PC to the PS3 and then thru my hifi system.

Re: connecting wirelessly to ps3
Hi,
Got my PS3 online wireless speed was excellent at first (Firmware updates and Gran Turismo playable demo downloaded in a matter of minutes) but as much more traffic hit the servers over the weekend things got slow and network time outs were common place. I suspect as with anything new things will be sorted shortly and the settings to gain wireless connectivity are ever so simple to folllow.
I will keep you posted though
Mike.

Re: connecting wirelessly to ps3
The PS3 can pull media from the PC using Orb or any other network share application. It is easier to do it on the 360, though of course the wireless adapter on the 360 is something that has to be purchased.
For my PS3 I have an 80gig drive in a USB casing that works a treat. Just connected to my PC to transfer the files then plugged it into the PS3.
Networking on the PS3 is very easy-tell it to scan for your access point, input the passkey your router is using and that's that. I think Sony are still trying to cope with all the traffic at the moment though!!
Bluetooth coms are surprisingly good - better than the 360 coms, and probably on a par with the original xbox. Certainly better than the 360 wireless headset which is still terrible even after the patch.
Overall I am quite impressed. At least it hasn't frozen yet due to overheating (I had 3 xbox 360s with this problem)
