      Problem with freesat

I am trying to post a new thread.
My first post. For an hour now, with 10 pages open it is very slow.
I have just had a problem with my Amstrad freesat or Freesky. It is a few years old and has worked perfectly until now. Channels above about 450, start to break up on sound and vision. I've changed the scart connector, set new installation several times, each time it says installation failed. Aerial quality and strength are about 70%. Channels 101 to 450 are perfect.
Could it be the box or has the aerial moved out of alignment?

      Re: Problem with freesat

I think you are discussing FreesatFromSky in which case it can't be anything to do with the TV aerial. More likely water in the cable, faulty Digibox, faulty LNB or interference from a DECT phone.
No satellite signal is being received

      Re: Problem with freesat

      Thank you for the reply.
I checked everything, except climbing up to the aerial, which I cannot do
I tried to update the software, which seemed to be working well.
When I switched back on, the weak signals, above channel 176 were just the same.
All channels below this number were full strength, i.e. no breakup or drop outs of sound.
The software was still the same after update, i.e. operating sys. 1.2S4F1 and EPG 3.6.4.18
So, could it be that the software is still out of date and may be the cause of the trouble?
If not, then I need to borrow a digibox first, before getting the aerial checked

      Re: Problem with freesat

As I mentioned - assuming you are indeed referring to satellite TV - this problem can't have anything to do with the TV aerial, since your satellite signal comes from the LNB on a dish.

You forgot to state the Amstrad model number but some models do suffer from tuner problems. If a different Digibox works OK (try it) then I'd suggest sending yours for repair to http://www.DigifixLtd.co.uk
