I have Sky Multiroom ie Sky+ in the living room and Sky in a bedroom.
For moneysaving (Poor old Pensioner) If I cancel my existing SKY Monthly subscription and buy a £20 Sky Freesat Card I know I can then use my existing gear to watch Sky Freesat but
Can I still use the Sky+ Box to record etc ???

Hi

The Sky + features are free if you have an active TV subscription. If not then it costs £10 per mth.

As for spending the £20 for a card, I am pretty sure Sky can turn your existing card into one.

Can you set manual recordings? Like you would a VCR?

Day-Time etc? I assume only the Sky planner type of recording doesn't work.

You may even be able to record two different freesat channels if manual recording works.

Just seems a shame that when I stop my contributions to SKY (Shareholders) I will have a perfectly good PVR that I cannot use !!!!!!!!

I am not too sure if the PVR side would stop working. I would assume so. As a test, take the viewing card out and try it.

No, You need an aerial for the terrestial Freeview, you would stand more chance of getting it with just a long piece of coax than the dish
