Anyone have a Freesat Card and SKY+?
Im thinking of getting a Freesat card but i have a SKY+ box.. Will these work together as ive seen on some websites, that freesat cards only work with Sky digiboxes?
Is a SKY + box classed as a Digibox?
Thanks Paul.

Re: Anyone have a Freesat Card and SKY+?
no reason why it should not work , the recording/pause feautures on the sky plus will not work as you need to have a subscrition to use them

Re: Anyone have a Freesat Card and SKY+?
really?
i just tried it and it recorded sky news fine?
although it would nt play back anything from the old planner that is on a encrypted channel ie channel 4... I just have my old sky card in it, not Freesat Card at the moment though...

Re: Anyone have a Freesat Card and SKY+?
and you dont have a subscribtion ?
edit just re-read your post !, you may have to wait for someone who knows more about this sort of thing (there are a few on here, just mabey not at the moment) i was under the impresion that my above statement about neededing a current subscribtion was correct as they have not long age let you use the sky plus features without the premium channels (you used to have to have sport and/or movies to use it, if not it was an extra £10 per month)Last edited by richone54; 12-01-08 at 10:46 PM.

Re: Anyone have a Freesat Card and SKY+?
So Have they dropped the £10 Charge to Use SKY+ Recording etc?
My Goal is to get FreeSAT and Setanta Sports Only..
Keeping the costs down to £10 a month for S-Sports.. once i have paid the £20 for the
Card.
Paul.

Re: Anyone have a Freesat Card and SKY+?
they had dropped the £10 charge (so now can use even if you don't subscribe to sports or movies) but as far as i know you still need an active sky subscription to use the sky plus features

Re: Anyone have a Freesat Card and SKY+?
If you're subscribing to at least a minimum package then there's no fee for the Sky+ features. If you have no subscription at all you can still use the facility by paying a monthly fee of £10. And yes, the box will work with a freesat card.
