How can I make my sky card freeview.

I live in Spain and I am cancelling my 2 pack(15gbp)because my 12 months is up but over here they work with agents who contact sky and want to charge me 15 quid because they said they are on the phone to sky for 20 minutes before someone speaks to them so basically over here they are trying to charge me a lot of money just to cancel the package.I only really want the freeview channels now.
I have a spare sky card(blue with yellow house) but doesnt give me ch4,ch5 or sky3. Can I ring sky myself and get these channels put on for free or do they expect me to by another skycard at 20quid?

If you take the card out power the box off, then power it up again then put the card in, it should revert to freeview sometimes takes overnight for the extra channels to come on, well did on mine anyway.

Does it? I didnt know that.....hold on ill give it a go........
I left it for 5 minutes and i can still only recieve bbc and itv.
Anyone else know of this method? Maybe i should leave it overnight

Deffo took mine 24hrs to sort itself out, I dont know if they do an update or something overnight. I have a Sky box in my caravan down on the coast with a disused card and if the power is off for a few weeks sometimes I have to wait overnight for CH4 and 5 to come back on. Its weird.

great, but will this work if its never been a freeview card before?.The card i have is the same type but was given to me with a subscription pack on and now when they cancel my package will it automatically give me freeview with ch4 etc???

Yeah mine was from a box which used to have a subscription, give it a go see what happens.

cheers.ch4, ch5 sky 3 came on at last!!!. More 4 is still off though.Isnt that meant to be freeview too?

More4, E4, & Film4 are subscription-only on Sky.

They're only free-to-air (FTA) on Freeview.


Channel4 are apparently going to make their digital satellite channels FTA when their contract with Sky expires in 2008.

They don't all come back on though

I have one thats been in the STB for months and there is still no sign of C4 or C5
