You guys still have a few weeks before your clocks go ahead; but for us it happens tonight. That means at 7am GMT; I will only be 4 hours behind you lot; at least till the end of March when we go back to the normal 5 hour difference. Still, I like my 'do it at 2am' joke.

At least we know Spring is somewhere around the corner.

Once the flood waters have receded, we can see other signs of Spring in the local area where I live.

The Daffodils have been out for a few weeks already and so too have the Bluebells.

Also the Peregrine Falcons are back. Just waiting for the camera feed to go live:

My Dwarf Dafs are in full bloom, but the full size ones haven't even formed buds yet? I wonder if they know something the little brothers don't?

Some of my cacti came out of hibernation today.

One pot of seedlings couldn't handle the madness though & have perished.

Flowers and crops always seem to come a little earlier in this area. Portsdown Hill, which overlooks Portsmouth helps.

Re: It's the time of the year I tell people "I'll do at at 2am"

I haven't had any daffodils come up yet. I've got a few things starting to peek through the dirt. I hope the flooding recedes soon; I've been seeing things about it all over various news programmes. I'm fortunate where I live that I don't really have to deal with that kind of flooding; although there are areas around me that deal with it quite often. Out west they really deal with major flooding; though the last few years have been a bit of a drought and they haven't had the big rivers do much.

The flowers here are probably behind you lot solely because we've had an unusually harsh winter. We generally don't get too far below 0 degrees Celsius around here; occasionally you might see something like -5; but we had spells where -7 was the daytime high and it'd drop to -13 at night. We've also been dealing with more snow than this area deals with. I think today is the first day I've been able to go outside without seeing patches of white stuff everywhere. But it's really saturated the ground...which I'm sure is still frozen.

Spring is actually going to be a mess; this ground thaws and we start getting those April showers I won't be able to go outside without sinking chest-deep in mud. Still, after dealing with months of darkness early in the evening; it's strange to be sitting here at 7pm with close to a half hours of daylight left.

One pot of seedlings couldn't handle the madness though & have perished.
My dyslexia kicked in on this; I had to read it. I thought you were talking about seedlings of something else.

Nope, no leafy fauna here. Just cacti.

You know, fauna as in flora really.
Just like you said fox news is left wing but is right wing really.

I like the difference as I don't need to sit up so late to download my favourite US TV shows ;-)

That could be something else entirely! (Your original non edited reply is sitting in my inbox) :P

Heh. I did? I wouldn't insult the left that way. I prefer to deal with Fox News by hoping if I pretend hard enough it doesn't exist; it'll go away.

We have TV shows worth waiting up for?
