Good job it's only a steam fair and not Glastonbury.

Re: Carter Steam Fair right near our house
Luckily it's not too noisy and I have my windows open, I'm hoping when it livens up later that my TV will cover most of the noise

Re: Carter Steam Fair right near our house
Well hopefully that's it, all over for another year. I thought it was the smoke that you were bothered about but from the distance in the photograph I'd say a neighbour's bonfire would cause more distress. I trust the noise didn't blow the roof off.

Re: Carter Steam Fair right near our house
The generator buzz was slightly annoying but over all it was relatively quiet. They finished 8pm Sunday and were gone by 8pm Monday and left the field nice and tidy, you would never know a fair had been there
Just have to see if they come again next year as this was their first time here.

Re: Carter Steam Fair right near our house
Provided that they didn't tear the pitch up I expect that the rugby club would be quite happy to have them back as the fair would provide extra revenue for the club, even if it's only ground rent.

Re: Carter Steam Fair right near our house
There are static steam fairs eg: http://www.hollycombe.co.uk/attracti...am_at_the_fair but I must admit to being surprised that travelling steam fairs still exist though as Annie says it is the first time it has visited this location so maybe it is all part of a resurgence in nostalgia.
