Have I made the right choice?

Rang Orange today regarding upgrading my phone as it is about 2 years old.

I did want an iPhone 5 and it would be 46 per month with a free iPhone 16 gig version, I was paying 45 for a 3GS

However, after speaking to the guy, and his recommendation, and a 14 day policy of being able to return if I didn't like it, I ordered the Samsung Galaxy S3 at 40 per month, and a free S3

Looking around etc there are a lot of pros and cons for either, but will I regret changing from the iPhone to the S3?

Surely your first mistake was staying with Orange when you had chance to leave. Awful company.

tbh I find them very good, has problems sure, but I have always been handled courteously and to my advantage. Been with them for about 8 years or so. Never really had to pay when upgrading, and always get a better deal on upgrade. Plus they have 4G

Tried flogging me broadband and you could hear their mouth drop when they asked how much I was paying for line rental and BB and I said 10.50 per month lol

pmsl - I sure that she was well upset with how much you are paying and wanted the same deal.

Seriously though, I love my S2 and am very grateful for it too. You should find the S3 more than capable of performing well.

The only drawback is Sky's insistence on releasing apps for the IOS market before the Android market. However they should be releasing an update for the Sky+ app for the Android market soon.

Have I made the right choice?

The only reservation I have is the iPhone is just ace and making the change doesn't feel right

I have seen the s3 in shops etc and it does look good but I guess it's just the thought of change etc and getting all new apps to replace the ones I currently use.

Of course it will look and feel very different and at first you'll be cursing because a favourite app isn't available perhaps.

There are some very good alternatives to most of the apps on the iPhone and it may take a little getting used to. One thing I will suggest now is for you to purchase a memory card as well. Whether you go for an additional 16GB, 32GB or 64GB is your choice. Make sure that the speed rating is at least '10' though.

Re: Have I made the right choice?

Well it arrived about an hour ago, first impressions I was not that impressed.

Having played with it for a bit, the camera is ace, Tapatalk is miles better imo and the feel of it I am getting used to.
