Well, a few days later, absolutely no reply from BT or the guy that offered the detail.

Spoke to a guy today, who told me that the 10 deal did exist but was pulled months ago. His manager confirmed the same. Another 30 minutes of my life wasted on the phone to a bunch of incompetent customer service wannabees.

It makes you wonder why some people still consider switching to BT Retail.

Re: BT Playing 'Tough Cookie To Crack' Games

Well I bit the bullet tonight, and ordered Sky Line Rental.

Weighing the options up, I pay BT on average about 23 a month excluding any calls to mobiles that the kids make.

BT are due to put their line rental up in January to 15 odd and Sky made me an offer, just too good to refuse. Along with the 5 a month saving off my Sky BB in future as well. We are a whole lot better off per month now.

So BT - You can stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Re: BT Playing 'Tough Cookie To Crack' Games

Thanks for that, I missed this point.

      Now the charges are:

      Daytime: 12.77p per min
      Evening: 7.66p per min

There is also a new Tariff Guide which is effective 1st December 2012. The prices for the mobile calls are the same.

Re: BT Playing 'Tough Cookie To Crack' Games

Just sent this to my mate Gavin Patterson at BT via email, he will probably just ignore it anyway.

      Hello Mr Patterson,

I hope you are well this fine and lovely Thursday morning.

Below you will find an email that I sent to you on 26th September 2012 of which you have not even had the courtesy to acknowledge or even respond to.

As you have shown complete disregard to any customer satisfaction, I have now responded in kind, and shown complete disloyalty to BT

You should of course, now be, absolutely over the moon with the fact that your company has now lost 247 per annum excluding any calls that my family makes.

Thankfully, I have now voted with my feet and signed up to Sky Line Rental, who incidentally are a whole lot cheaper than BT - even though your agents tried to convince me otherwise, whilst I spent hours on the phone, wasting my life away, talking to them.

I would like to take this opportunity for giving me the chance to evaluate my options, and finally proving to me that BT really don't care about their customers.

In closing, I would also like to say a special thank you to your staff that worked at BT in 1976 (or thereabouts) when I used to call BT regularly and speak to Busby. However, I now realise, that Busby never actually existed, and it was indeed one of your staff, showing that they did care about customer service, and physically spent the time, talking to me in a stupid voice, for hours upon hours.

      Regards

      Ged

      Gobsmacked.

      Within 9 minutes this reply.

      Dear Ged,

I am sorry I failed to reply to your first email. I try to read and reply to every customer email but I must have missed your email for some reason and I will go back through my records to see what happened.

I note that you have decided to leave BT. May I take this opportunity to thank you for your custom and if you decide that you want to return at any point, I hope we can make up for your recent poor experience.

      Sincerely,

      Gavin

What do you mean he ain't real? Of course he is. Just look at his home made video:

That was about the time that BT were a genuine helpful company. Have an issue now with them and you have more chance of winning the lottery 15 times in a night, consecutively for 52 weeks, whilst playing snooker blindfolded and achieving a maximum break, then getting it resolved.

However, I stopped my DD in protest, as I had a genuine unresolved issue, and the day after, guess who rang. And no it wasn't Busby. I told them I had a particular issue and how I wanted it resolving, but they didn't resolve it. Afterall if the Chief Executive cannot be bothered to reply, little chance of people below sorting things out.

Although to his credit, 9 minutes is a fast turnaround, and I am still amused at the fact he thinks BT can make up for past poor experiences if I were to return to them. Obviously he is going to sack all the customer service and bring back all those from 1976 or thereabouts to achieve that.

Good luck to them, I say.

I think that many of the BT Customer service staff who were working back then are now working for Wonga.com.
