      Nice tune RDC.

As for Rupert and Rebbecca being in lurve, stranger things have happened.

I guess that neither of these will be appearing in the Sun.

For a laugh I was searching to see if any betting companies are offering odds for Murdochs keeping control of News Corp & News International.

I haven't had any luck so far, but I have found this story:

Ecclestone shoots down Murdoch F1 takeover report - Live Odds and Scores

      20th April 2011
LONDON - Bernie Ecclestone insisted Wednesday that Formula One is not for sale, brushing off reports that Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. is interested in taking over the sport.

Sky News reported that News Corp., which owns a 39 percent stake in the broadcaster's parent group, has begun talks with Mexican telecom magnate Carlos Slim about forming a consortium to buy control of F1 from private equity firm CVC Capital.

But the 80-year-old Ecclestone, who runs F1 on behalf of CVC, reiterated his intention to stay in control for some time yet.

BBC News - News Corp withdraws bid for BSkyB

Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation has announced that it is dropping its planned bid to take full ownership of BSkyB.

The announcement came as the House of Commons was preparing to vote for a motion calling on Mr Murdoch to do so.

All three major party leaders had said they supported the motion, which would not be legally binding on News Corp.

I think people need to remember that the Murdoch's built Sky TV before they floated it. Where would we be if Sky TV hadn't existed and we'd only had VM and BSB?

well as BSB went broke and Sky bailed them out, we'd be looking at a square dish and no TV picture.

      Re: Phone Hacking & Sky

Anyone remember Thames Television and how it lost it's ITV Franchise to Carlton Television, despite being the better bid?

Possible reasons included Margaret Thatcher getting upset over the 'Death on the Rock' story.

Yes there has been some very good televised content. Sky has helped to transform the content that was present in the 1980s to what it is now. They have heavily funded many of the UK's sports, especially the Football.

Whether these changes would have happened without Sky is a matter for debate.

Would we have Satellite television in this country: Yes

Would the content be the same as it is now: No

Would it have been better or worse: Unknown
