Scandalous, but sometimes we Brits love a simple scapegoat and I'm sure journslists from all papers have been "up to it"....a bit like how it's not only MPs that fiddle their expenses.

It is sad that the 'Old Thunderer' was once the quality paper.

It is very true that the Internet is a very powerful tool.

This is one reason why it was disconnected during the public revolts in Tunisia & Egypt earlier this year.

I suspect that many of us have witnessed different events where the Internet has had a dramatic influence.

It would be a foolish person to ignore the power of the Internet now. Whilst some of it is fun, there is also much to be said for being able to join like-minded people who might otherwise never meet in person.

      Re: Phone Hacking & Sky

Well it looks like someone hasn't had a quiet weekend:

BBC News - Rebekah Brooks arrested by hacking police

BBC News - Hacking row: Theresa May to outline 'concerns' over Met

...and the Serious Fraud Office has become involved.

Anyone know the odds on News Corporation being in business at the end of this year?

      Re: Phone Hacking & Sky

I tried to watch the discussion, but it couldn't have been more contrived if they had tried.

I'm sorry to say but I felt that it was too well staged and I personally wouldn't trust anything that came from his mouth yesterday.

With regards to his excuse of not knowing what was happening, then I am sorry to say but the owner of any firm must know this. It shows that he has no control of his company and is not fit & proper to run it anymore.

I have witnessed someone else in one of those rooms give a presentation. It too had some lies in it which are very damaging for the people that it affects to this day. Even the people whom he represented were horrified with the lies and the panel asked him to clarify his opinion.

So I have little regard for the presentation provided yesterday. It served only to make the public think that Parliament is doing something.

They should stick the foam throwing idiot in jail for insulting a Parliamentary committee. They should also fine the Security men who allowed him to do it.

By the way, his wife attacked the hooligan in defence of her husband. I have nothing but admiration for her.
