      Poppies and Health And Safety

It's official! This country is absolutely goosed due to Helath and Safety.

My daughter gave me a poppy in the car, and said you may as well have this, as the school have asked for all the pins back.

After giving the kids a poppy each as well as the pins to attach them on their school uniform, the school then asked for all the pins back, rendering the whole exercise pointless and a complete waste of time on the teacher's behalf.

Surely there are more dangerous things in a school then a poppy and a pin. And if a child cannot wear a poppy at such an important time of the year, then there is no hope for anyone.

They will be getting blunt spoons to eat their school dinners with next, just in case they injure themselves with a fork or a knife.

I am going to the school tomorrow to give them a piece of my mind. I have heard of some stupid decisions in the past, but that absolutely takes the urine.

A pencil has more chance of inflicting serious harm and the kids are allowed pencil cases full of them, all year round, let alone a week or so.

You can get poppies with sticky pads on the back.

Makes sense, so why didn't the school think of that.

Re: Poppies and Health And Safety

ive just finished laughing, that is the stupidest thing ive ever heard. H&S has gone mad, when i was at school(not too long ago) H&S was annoying such as conkers etc but now its getting mad.

more harm an be done with any object, surely next we will add live in padded rooms, but we can do that as there is a suffercation hazard.

poppy week/day has always been a tradition and i really dont see how they can interfere with that, if someone is stupid enough to do soething stupid with a pin then i would be te first to argue it is the stupidity of the one child
