Re: State of the UK
it is awful, my street is the ONLY way to get through onto other streets, and this corner is a skid pan, ive never seen a binwagon/gritter or anything, even the postman did half a shift, my mam cannot get the car out for the ice/snow. on the a1 a gritter passed us at 60mph when the roads were limited to 30, how can they possbl grit that fast?

I agree about the roads and everything, but I've just watched the film "Sicko" about the american health care system and we have a lot to be gratful for. One chap cut off his fingers at work and had no medical insurance, so had to choose which fingertip he wanted putting back on as he could not afford treatment for all of them.

Re: State of the UK
When we went to Edinburgh the other week, I have never seen so many gritters, with the ploughs on the front, whilst on the motorway etc

Re: State of the UK
Hahaha a gritter just went by... had no idea cornwall had any!, perhaps its just the one doing the rounds, and by that i mean the entire county.
Something to make you laugh tho, when i lived in Devon, the recycle men wouldn't empty my recycling box for 7 months, get this... Because it was 8 inches too far from where it should be!!! From where it should be!!! I said its outside my front door, and was never told it had to be a certain distance! I waited 7 months for that one, this country has gone crazy.
