£8 a month for chips !
If you're tempted to spend up to £175 on a Tefal Actifry to get "healthy" chips, then be aware that these machines tend to go up in smoke, often within weeks of the warranty expiring. I bought one of these in May 2008, and used it a couple of times a week. Last week it did what the ones featured on BBC TV Watchdog did, it threw out a lot of blue sparks out of the back, followed by black smoke. I wish I'd seen Watchdog before I bought the thing ! My chips have cost me about £8 a month !
Tips:
- If you already have an Actifry, don't leave it unattended - it could cook more than your chips !
- If you're thinking of buying one - think very carefully about it.
- If you really must buy one, get one with an extended warranty, because you'll need it ! Get a smoke alarm too
- If you already have an Actifry, don't leave it unattended - it could cook more than your chips !

Re: £8 a month for chips !
The Tefal Actifry does make very nice chips, but so does my local chippy, and even if I drove to that twice a week, I doubt if it would cost £8 a month.
