yes as above, although i wont be attempting anything till 15/7/10 i am practising on the theory software

ive got the 08/09 version pro
i was wondering wether the hazard clips are the sam ones as there will be in the actual test and if they are better quality

i was hoping if i keep doing the test on the software then it will stick for my test in about 11 months

Re: Can i have advice for preparing for the driving test?

i think the theory test is changing in Oct 2009 into some scenario based questions. I don't think the hazard perception test is changing. why take so long to learn to drive?

I am sitting in the test centre waiting room as I write this waiting for my son to get back from his test. He's driving a 12 year old Ford Fiesta that cost 100.

dont forget to read the highway code in small sections over and over again.... practice on the hazard test will stand you in good form but some of the versions dont have the actual DSA approved video's.

When your a passenger in a car start looking for road marks and speed signs etc, if there is one you dont know ask the driver. Make sure you know how to tell what speed the road is your driving along.

i thought if i learn it now and in a few months then it will stick

i will be driving a 14 year old(then) astra mk3 AUTO icould use my dads van but i might want to live

i got the pro version and it says it has 1200+ questions and 64 videos. but the quality, its hard to see if its a man or a lampost.

it also included the highway code, but its so big the first half is about you as a pedestrian

In our day, we only had a Highway Code book and the insight from having driving lessons. None of this PC malarky, if you are confident, and are a good enough driver from the off, then just the book and the lessons will guide you through passing your test.

Most of it is common sense and if you fail any of the tests then in reality, you shouldn't really be driving should you, as you are a risk to everyone else.

Pass your test in an AUTO and that's all you will able to drive -AUTOs, not manuals.
Pass it in a manual and you can drive autos as well!

Re: Can i have advice for preparing for the driving test?

When I took my test if you took it in an auto then you were only licensed for an auto, ie if you intended to drive a manual then you had to take the test in a manual. This however did allow you to drive both manual and auto if you passed of course.
I dont know if this still applies but it would be worth checking up on.

Edit - as Nedd has said. One other piece of advice - please avoid Preston when learning

well the manual bit is what i need to get around, my dads van is unsafe so that would not be allowed from the start.

      He passed by the way

Not bad considering he was only 1 month and 2 days past his 17th.
