The West Highland Way
hi guys/gals
I am setting of on a 95 mile walk on monday 3rd August along with my son and brother in law and his son [doing it for 2 charities ]and have created a blogg site with my preparations walk-the-way.blogspot.com if you have always fancied a bit of walking /climbing then i can thoroughly reccomend it [as an oldie 45yrs and still kicking] i can only say i wish i had done it years ago and if it encourages anyone to give something like this a go then i wish you good luck ,good climbing and good beer

yeah dave real life got in the way [tbh i forgot to post it on the forum
]good luck with your biking [try and get the lightest frame possible, and you realy dont need suspension on bikes just adds weight which you have propel ]and cheers ged but think i'll keep it at 44 [just makes me feel to old now

well peeps have done the do have a look at the walk-the-way.blogspot.com it was hard,difficult ,boring ,amazing,drunken and occasionally smelly all i can say is give it a try and most of all have fun ,on the train home 12 of the guys were like school kids on holiday with the oooooooooooooooh look thats where we done this that etc was a good week but the best bit was getting home having a long lie in my bed and a jaccuzi shower [5 layers oif midgie removed

Nice one, well done. I'm afraid I will be getting one with suspension as I'm pretty lightweight so that will make up for the bike weighing a little more. Its primary use will be off road so I think I will need it for that. It can be locked out as well for next year when I am planning to do the Manchester - Blackpool run which is road based and will stop me expending effort on compressing a spring.

Why not Run it Next Year my daughter-in-law does it for fun in between running up Munroes. Her record is a bit over 19 hours.

i would run it but it would spill my drink [easy to walk and drink ] but 19hrs is excellent think the record is 15 hrs
