The cost just goes up and the content gets more diluted with more channels and platforms to choose from.
Maybe it was better in the old days when we had a limited number of channels.
Agreed (except the last sentence - what we are seeing is effectively “the cost” of having a choice! But “choice” is still better than “no choice”. In my opinion of course...

Hi Speedyrite , I agree choice is what We all want but you have to keep an eye on the cost
With Sky, Amazon Prime, Netflix etc the costs are paid by DD & tend to get overlooked
Until you check your bank account occasionally like most of us & find your balance is not
What you thought it was !!!!!!!

it tends to be like car/house insurance on auto renewal you then end up paying a lot more than
You need to because you don't actually hand over the cash the bank does it for you.

Totally agree with you! Nothing really worth watching. Netflix was in use at our house throughout the Christmas and New year period.

Hello Joseph52 Its very handy having the option of Netflix but as I said its a further cost
and if you spend all that money on Sky it makes you wonder Why, maybe speedyrite has
the right idea Now TV then you just pay for what you want when you want it.

TV just dies over that period...even on the high seas. I usually try and save a season of something to tide us all over or watch a boxset.

Or you could phone Sky to cancel now that you are out of contract and see if you can get a better offer.

Hello seawright I am not yet out of contract until April so not sure why Sky
Have sent the Offer now ? But still there you are maybe they want to strike early
I may decide to wait until closer to expiry & then see what they Offer my
Broadband & phone also expire in April & BT keep sending Me offers although
I left them a long time ago.

Re: Season's television Xmas & New Year

I used to watch WWE wrestling on Sky One HD as well as Sky Sports Mix. Both channels no longer provide WWE shows. BT has the contract instead. A few weeks later and I saw WWE shows on Channel5 HD as well as the Paramount channel. So some winners and some losers and yet Sky is still increasing its prices in April. When I phoned Sky on the 20th of February 2020 I couldn't get any further discounts than those I had already. I was told I could get some SKY VIP offers and I got Sky Kids channels for 3 months free as well as a free Sky movie from the Sky Store. I got Spider-Man: Far From Home free. The Kids channels were working today.

Re: Season's television Xmas & New Year

I was told of Sky and BT increasing their prices thanks to the Moneysavingexpert sending their website email updates. So I visited Sky's website and checked my account. I had already cancelled Sky Cinema but had to complete the 30-days' cancellation first before my account would be reduced by 10 a month. While I could switch to NOW TV's services in the future, my long term Sky contract doesn't let me do that for now. While I had also cancelled the Sky Kids channels recently, I was glad to get those working again today. I'm paying extra for extra channels as well as extra TV services but at least I can record these programmes to my DVD Recorder.
