Lovely anecdotes from others, Rick Wakeman being one.

Cannot say the same for that 7-30 prog on bbc, what a load of crap form those two bbc 6 djs. Glad I do not listen to that radio station. Can they not find people who can talk properly and can compose a sentence.
Suppose I was spoilt in an era of Radio Luxembiurg and the real old BBC. that set the bar.

Anwyay, had a quite a few old school friends call me up, 'do you remember, 'really sad'.
Time to shed a tear I think. do not say that often.

@dog-man What a rebel you were!

Lining up a few albums on Spotify, Low first. Nice and loud, sorry neighbours.

      I was a rebel!

I went to a very stuffy Grammar school where all the teachers wore black robes and mortar boards. There was a very strict uniform policy.
We were very poor as my parents had split up. I was fed up with having to wear uniform that was several sizes too big and having to make it last for a few years and it looking scruffy and worn out.
One day, I turned up in bright blue flares, a yellow and white large checked shirt with large white cuffs and collar. I was sent home with the instruction to "get changed". That was their big mistake, because they didn't mention anything about changing into proper uniform. I went back to school after changing into something equally as flashy and then refused to go home and put uniform on. Within two weeks, most of the other children refused to wear the uniform and there was nothing the school could do. The head threatened me with the cane but I stood my ground and he backed off and the uniform policy ended. It also meant that the teachers stopped wearing the robes and mortars. The head kept wearing them.

I am very much against school uniform because I have experienced first hand how it can make a child from a poor family feel.

Going back to the shaved eyebrows. There was a downside to it. When playing football or doing anything that made me sweat, the sweat would run down into my eyes and sting and blind me. Eyebrows stop the sweat running into your eyes.

I guess that there won't be a funeral service...

David Bowie 'cremated in New York' - BBC News
David Bowie's body has been privately cremated in New York, according to reports.

The cremation took place soon after his death, avoiding a funeral service for the star who closely guarded his privacy in his final years.

In line with his wishes, no family or friends were present at the ceremony, the Daily Mirror reported...
Perhaps there'll be a memorial service.

That's the way I want to go.
No fuss, no funeral no wasting of money.
The important things are the memories.
