Remember my regular visits in the 90s/00s to the Belgium Spa F1 GPs.
There were many stalls selling smoked fillets of horse meat and was delicious!
Used to be popular with the barbecues we all had going around the track.
Was also many stalls selling a lot of horse in what we would call pulled type strips of meat now served in baquettes.

Would it be too obvious to ban politicians from being on that list?

Passed two bookies this morning on our walk to get our weeekend joint and groceries.
Both look very scruffy and windows/doors all blanked out, what are they doing in there or hiding...
Gambling has never been a part of my life or my peers. Shows really as the ads they have on tv go over my head, make no sense and just portrays a wierd world.

Oh I don't know.... you could get some very interesting results, try this lot for starters:

      Jeremy Corbyn and Anglela Merkal

      or

      Nicola Sturgeon and Nigel Farage

      The combinations are almost endless.

There are far too many bookies in our main street, all of them very close to each other.

I think they are a bit like 'adult' shops, blacked out so as not to corrupt those under eighteeen.... ( anymore than they already are! )

That's correct, windows may now be used to advertise odds etc, which was illegal up to 2005, but it is still illegal to allow the public a view of the inside of the shop. A bit like sex shops. I don't bet, but my other half has a daily flutter and enjoys her coffee and biscuits with her fellow betting cronies.

I was a betting office manager at one point in my career.
A fascinating and very high pressure job - especially on Grand National day.

      Hmmm...

Of course such activities used to be more common. Now you can do most things with one of these...

So whilst I appreciate your sentiments, the truth is that if humans don't have a need or desire for such animals, then they have no requirement to encourage them to breed. It they don't breed then the whole species will become extinct, with perhaps a handful kept in the local Zoo.

Whilst the horses do not appreciate the aspect of betting, many do love to run. If they didn't then you would have to treat them by whipping and other brutal means. All this leaves scars, physical and mental. If that were the case then you'd see them very clearly.

This is simply unacceptable now and the whips used are actually very light.

      Sorry made me think of the trailer now on syfy where Halle Berry says;
Over 99% of all species that have ever existed have gone extinct. What if it's our time?

So looking forward to it in a few weeks time.
