Do the Crime then you gotta do the time!
A recent report on behalf of the Magistrates showed that a large number of people are being taken to court for failure to pay.

TV Licensing are doing this in bulk which mucks up your chances of showing hardship.

With the current government drive to mess up the benefits system there are a lot of people whose benefits are being completely messed up.

The result is that they will end up with a criminal record.

But seriously, how can you complain about Pointless?

Best quiz show on tv for last few years.

I would say they should get a job - lol, that's what the media and the government would be saying.

Job-lessness is a problem in certain parts of this country which cannot be avoided unfortunately. Despite the governments current stance that people choose to be job-less.

Many are attempting to find work. Unfortunately they are struggling to find anything.

More and more people are being referred to places where they can receive emergency food parcels.

Often this is not a choice that people make.

Re: Rob Wilson MP: Time to scrap unfair poll tax on television

I'm a qualified IT engineer, which I worked hard/swapped to later in life to try and get off benefits, and where I live there are NO jobs. Nope not even stacking a shelf in the local supermarket. This get a job or die attitude is a product of the biggest benefit scroungers in the country, the MP's themselves. With mechanisation and the flourishing digital revolution the work of hundreds can be done by just a few (have you seen the robot studios on TV now?), so what's with the notion that we ALL have to toil for at least 8-12 hours in a factory to be a human being worthy of compassion and respect.

I pay for the license because it's the law, doesn't mean I have to agree with it, or look forward to it's demise.
