thinkbroadband :: Plusnet adds BT Sport via Sky satellite service
There had been a steady chorus of PlusNet customers chasing for access to BT Sport, driven by the knowledge that PlusNet is owned by BT even though run at a good arm's length. With a516digital spotting at the very bottom of the recently updated PlusNet price guide that BT Sport would be available to PlusNet broadband customers for £5.99 per month, or £7.49 if they want the HD feed on their Sky satellite set-top box, it seems those wanting BT Sport have succeeded.
So while PlusNet has not managed to negotiate free access to BT Sport channels, it has at least got the price reduced from the standard £12 per month (what non BT Broadband customers usually pay). The PlusNet/BT Sport deal carries a one month minimum term and also seems to avoid the £15 activation fee that BT Retail normally charge.
The rumours of PlusNet producing their own IPTV product keep simmering away too, and having BT Sport on board might make this more attractive.

Re: Plusnet adds BT Sport via Sky satellite service
BT got the all clear to get Sky Movies on their new on-line system at last. This will make things harder for PlusNet for the time being.
PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
