Somewhat odd.
As a test I connected my router direct into the master socket to see what difference it would make to the attenuation (49db). I was surprised to see no difference at all. Ok the home wiring has been rewired with cat5 cable but I still expected to see a difference. Synch speed is about 6112 and SNR varies between 4.5db and 7db depending on the time of day. I am about 1.87Km straight line from the exchange. Can anybody advise why I had no difference in readings or what I did wrong.
Many thanks

Re: Somewhat odd.
As there was no difference in reading to me that means your wiring / extensions are spot on and not causing any interference.
If you had better stats in your test socket, that would indicate a wiring problem, but you have eliminated that.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Call me what you like, but I thought I would have seen some difference. Nice to know I did a good job with the wiring though.

Re: Somewhat odd.
Just as a heads up, the test socket is there for one reason and one reason only.
If you ever have a problem with your line and you call BT out, they will take the faceplate off and plug into the test socket, if this is perfect, that means that the cabling into your property (ie BT's responsibility) is not at fault.
If they then put the faceplate back on and the results are worse, then your internal wiring is poor or not up to standard, therefore they would charge you to correct.
The fact that your stats are the same behind and front show that you did infact do a very good cabling job.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~
