moving router, more cable, what will happen
ok. i want to try moving my router to get at least a half decent signal.
i will need to move it a fair distance and will probably need 8 metres of cable to do it.
can i buy this much cable and will it effect the speed of my connection? bearing in mind i am wireless anyway.
ps: i am talking about 8metres of the modem type cable that goes from the back of the router to my broadband filter.

Re: moving router, more cable, what will happen
It is likely that your sync speed will lower, but it may be that you are not getting the full speed out of your conection due to using wireless. Could you post the stats from your router and do a speed test here:
Namesco BroadbandMax ADSL Broadband Bandwidth speedtest | Test your ADSL Broadband connection speed
You can get 10m lengths of RJ11 cable here:
Broadband ADSL Modem Cable
To try to minimize any deteriation in your connection this would be better cable to get:
Ultra High Speed ADSL Cables
