IF your wiring is original BT unless you have an old Wall hanging phone or an external ringer simply disconnect the cable attached to idc pin 3 should be orange or white and orange which is the bell ringer wire this is based on a any bt socket. If you do not have an NTE5 it is recommended to geet one fitted be aware of the cost before you do this though

If you fit a new NTE5 then there is no need to remove the bell wire, the inductor takes care of any problems that it can cause with ADSL.
