Re: Help please with installation of ADSL Nation Faceplate
My bad luck continues, after following the above guide my downstream went to 5300kbps, I thought i'd run a test on dslzone and various other speed test sites to see if I was getting the magical 500KB/sec.....
The best I managed was 16.1KB/sec, and this is plugged directly into the test socket.
I followed the guide completely, put my router back on it's extension etc and my download speed is 15.8KB/sec. My downstream now shows @ only 3000kbps.
I don't know what I've done, how I've broken it or how to fix it, I have DSL that is capable of running @ 512KB/Sec running at the speed of a 56k modem/ISDN at best
I think i'm going to have to send back the item to ADSL Nation and ring up BT and get an engineer out to rewire my house so I can receive the magical 512KB/sec transfer rates.
Chris.

Whatever you do with BT, Dont tell them that "You Fiddled" Just report it as a telphony fault!
And when they come they will find the fault and repair it! Say you can here crackles on the line!

Thanks for that FibreOptic, i'll do that, my only concern other than this is that they may change the master socket but since I run my router off an extension I may never see the 5mb download rates.

hehe hey there im in dewsbury.
I rewired my upstairs extension because i was getting 3mb upstairs, i rewired it with CAT5 cabling, and now i can get 13, so if you ask me mate you need to lay down a cat5 cable, if you need any help let me know.... Could probably do it for you for a small fee.
