      New Master Socket fitted today

BT today fitted a new master socket and I changed the faceplate to an ADSLNation XTE 5 (ADSL2)

      My new stats :
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 14705 kbps 766 kbps
Line Attenuation 27.5 db 13.7 db
Noise Margin 7.2 db 12.5 db

This is a 50% connection speed increase.

My best download speed till now has been around 7500/9000

Last Result: (BroadbandMax Namesco 1 hour ago)
Download Speed: 12216 kbps (1527 KB/sec transfer rate). A little less on thinkbroadband.com
Upload Speed: 625 kbps (78.1 KB/sec transfer rate

No contest, a clean ADSL connection direct into master socket makes for the greatest improvement in download speed.

FibreOptic...no, had an extension off a junction box.

BT charged 75 for giving me a new clean line and basic master box but it did cost me approx 14 from ADSLNation for the XTE faceplate.

Eliminated all house line extensions and phones and went wireless digital.
