      Filtered Phone Extensions.

I've had a quick look at some of the threads here and havent seen this trick mentioned. If you want an extension line and have the router near the master socket, this avoids some of the noise the extension line would introduce.

Remove the master spcket faceplate, the extensions should be wired onto the back of the faceplate.
Plug a microfilter directly into the test socket where the faceplate was.
Now plug the router into one side of the splitter and the face plate into the other. It's not easy to get the faceplate in but I managed.

The theory here is that the noise picked up in the extension wiring will be filtered out by the splitter leaving the DSL frequency range clean. My sync speed went from 5M to 8M.

Now all I need is for Sky to get my line unbundled and I'll see what it can really do.

True, it does exactly the same but costs infinity% more.

Filtered faceplates do look much nicer though.
