Re: 15m Ethernet cable or RJ11 cable better for fiber?

Thanks all, I set up the Sagem 2304n as a switch following the guide and it worker when I connected another computer to it with an Ethernet cable, I couldn't find the manual online to sort out the wifi bit but when I tried to connect to it with my phone it seemed to work anyway even if it does take about 5 mins to actually connect to it when sitting right next to it.....

      Thanks again

Although it is for the SR101, the instructions are pretty similar...

      Changing the Wireless settings

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Not sure it's relevant to this thread but did see a mention of running two connections upstairs. If you don't want a switch you can run 2*100mbit connections over a CAT5/6 cable as 100Mbit Ethernet only uses 4 of the 8 wires inside the cable so you can buy a cheap port doubler to run one connection down one set of 4 and the other connection down the other set of four. Alternatively you can use this to run a telephone connection to another part of your house using 1 cable, as long as you only plan to run the network at 100Mb. 1000Mbit (gigabit) Ethernet requires all 8 wires.
