      Master socket...BT or Sky?

Just wondering if I signed up with Sky Talk (moving from BT), does the master socket become the property of Sky?. I've been wanting to get my old master socket (single panel type) changed to the newer NTE5, and thought about using that as a possible condition of signing up with them.

I did buy the part to do it, but upon opening the box, the wire length looks like I'd get one chance to do it right, plus the wires look a bit brittle to me. So all in all I don't fancy doing it myself now.

The master socket remains the property of BTO. They probably wouldn't send an engineer out unless you were upgrading to fibre and even that isn't certain any more.
