      Help need on master socket.

I am about to get my broadband installed and i am trying to identify my master socket. I can only see one socket in my house which has a T logo which is at the bottom of my stairs. When i follow along the bottom of my stairs it leads to a little box with only one screw on the front and another T logo on it which is right next to my front door.

Now is this box with the 1 screw on it the master socket or is it some sort of wiring centre?

The boxes with one screw are probably just cable changing connection boxes. If you only have one telephone socket in the property then that will be your master socket. If the lower front section of the socket cannot be removed to reveal a test socket then it is not the latest version. What broadband package have you ordered and have you been informed whether an engineer will visit or is it self install?

................or a filter. Open it up and if you see RF2 printed on the PCB it will have to be replaced. Preferably with an RF3 or a plain BT80a junction. If you never have had broadband it may be an RF2, which is not suitable for broadband. Check it.
