Mine doesn't make the slightest difference I'm afraid,
If your main socket is wired correctly, then you excellent internal wiring and are one of the very few exceptions to the rule.

It looks like I am to start DLM on Monday, so time is running out.
If you are one of the many who see a marked improvement in the Test socket, just plug it into it and order one from RunitDirect or ADSLNation. Both will have it at your door by Tuesday. Unplugging the router when you are fitting it will make little or no difference.

even when this is fitted I still experienced slow speeds. Took it off and I am using a microfilter in my test socket (connecting my adsl & telephone cable) I am still getting slow speeds.

Re: ADSL Nation NTE-2005 Master face plate

Ive been using the sky provided microfilters and want to upgrade. Im not to great with the technical issues however and was wondering whether the XTE faceplate is easy to install or whether it would be more simple to purchase an ADSL Nation XF-1e Microfilter?

Also is there much difference in quality between the two?

      Thanks

Re: ADSL Nation NTE-2005 Master face plate

The master socket faceplate isolates all of your internal wiring from the ADSL signal. If you have extensions wired to the master socket then fitting and using one of these is the best way to go. The XF just replaces the filters supplied by Sky and although they may be better quality, they will make little difference.

Re: ADSL Nation NTE-2005 Master face plate

Hi! ... Another question to the gurus here... I've just had a new line installed by BT-Openreach.. they put in a master socket in a ridiculous location upstairs (but the only place they could due to where the 'drop-wire' was) and ran off an extension downstairs as well.

Now, as far as I can see the newer 'openreach' master sockets include 'i-plate' functionality, and I intend to plumb in a new socket for ADSL2+ use from here, using some CAT 5e. Would there be any benefit in repacing the faceplate with a filtered one in this case?

      Cheers. :-)
