test socket.
This is my first post so better say hi first :-)
Been reading up for awhile :-)
Is it ok to use the test socket constant for 2/3days untill my new facsplate turns up?

That is not a problem, many leave their filter permanently connected to the Test socket if they don't need extensions.

Thanks for that :-) would i plug my micro filter in as normall so my phone would work...if not ill ditch the phone lol

You normally have to use the filter to allow you to plug in the RJ11 cable to the router.

The filter is to cut out 'cross talk' between the ADSL signal and the phone, so if you don't have a phone, you don't really need a filter, but you need a compatible plug on the router cable.

Right i conected it all up last night and used the net as normal there was no rise in speed etc,Today i retested again and seem to have lost some upload speed....

if you've only lost a little , then it's quite normal & usually depends on the time of day you reboot the router
