      External NTE Help

Hi all first time posting here!

I currently moved into a new build property coming from my old house i had an internal master socket. In this new house i have external NTE.

I've looked up and managed to find my first socket in the house is upstairs in the master bedroom then i have another socket in the smaller room and another socket downstairs in the living room.

I managed to find it was the first one becuase it has two cables on each numbered connector where the others only have one cable - and only one cable for each number coming form the external NTE into the house.

What is the best solution to improved my speed? Current Stats are coming from the living room socket and have DLM running currently.

Connection Speed 3071 kbps 253 kbps
Line Attenuation 51.0 dB 26.8 dB
Noise Margin 7.2 dB 22.8 dB

Ive disconnected the socket in the smaller room and removed the bell wires from the other sockets as it stands currently.

External NTE's have been dropped now by BTO, the silly thing is they will fit them until all stock is gone! The best solution with these is to fit an NTE5 where the cable comes from the XNTE, fit a filtered faceplate to the NTE5 & connect all extension wiring to this. Seems strange that they've made the first socket the one in the upstairs room!

Yeah i saw they have been dropped due to not being right for when they use fibre products? But yeah very strange that the first socket is upstairs - nothing but a pain.

Thanks for the links and the reply and will get these ordered asap.

Yes that was the issue, they also had water ingress issues I believe. We said they were very short sighted when they released them! Back to the good old NTE5 with centralised filtering

That is exactly what I would do.
