Help with my internet, its so slow.

Pin 3 is the ring wire, this will not affect Internet or dial tone. So if your internet goes off(did you lose DT?) when you disconnect pin 3 you have issues! Personally I'd replace the junction box, it can help as the old one is VERY old and maye have HR issues.

Well i pulled the blue wire out of pin 3 and it disconnected the internet, not sure if i had a dial tone as i didnt check. Ok i will look in to getting one.

Before doing anything you might want to call Sky and ask them if they can raise your speed. You have exceptionally high noise margins both up and down. There is room there for an increase to something like 10-11Mb, without touching your wiring.

Im with Orange but i have spoke to them and they said i should be getting about 2mb. I did a number of tests and all that but ive got to ring them back in 2 days if my speed doesnt improve.

Sorry, I did not notice you were with Orange,, obviously phoning Sky will do no good.

If they can only give you 2 Mb with an attenuation of 33db, its time you moved on. That is very poor, even with ADSL1.

Just found out that my line can only take 512kbps according to BT
