      Re: Errors with different setups

Well just tried the Billion router and lowered the SNRM for the download

      Getting these figures:

      Upstream 853
      Downstream 12429
      SNR Margin(Upstream) 7.6
      SNR Margin(Downstream) 5.9
      Line Attenuation(Upstream) 20.5
      Line Attenuation(Downstream) 36.5

Looks like my download is still capped.

The stats on the sagem however indicate a higher SNR for the upload YET the Billion reports different even before my tweak.

I think i will pay for fibre to my house from the exchange via the cabinet!!!

      How so?

The only thing apart from the high error counts on the upstream that could be holding back your upstream sync is the 2symbol INP. If that was reduced, then maybe you'd get some more, but you're likely to see even more errors and for the sake of 100 odd kbps or so? C'mon, there are better things to obsess about rather than a few hundred kbps.

      Re: Errors with different setups

I have been fobbed off because I was told I was being put on a 20meg/1.3meg profile.

      My stats:

Max: Upstream rate = 1024 Kbps, Downstream rate = 15412 Kbps
      Path: 0, Upstream rate = 853 Kbps, Downstream rate = 12263 Kbps

Because I am using a broadcom based chipset in my router, I can never sync at the rate I should because I am on the conexant base easynet LLU.

When I move over to the SVBN, I can guarantee that my download will be around 14 meg and my upload will be 1 meg based on the stats above.
In fact my upload will sync close on 1.3 meg IF sky set me up on that profile once on the SVBN.

If Sky put me on a 20 meg/1.3meg profile on the easynet LLU, then my broadcom router would sync at around the same rate on the download but a lot more on the upload, around 1.082meg. That I know for sure!

      Re: Errors with different setups

I knew I could run at the speeds on the sagem I was getting.
It has taken over 2 weeks BUT today I am getting the following on the sagem 2304n:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 12850 kbps 980 kbps
Line Attenuation 35.0 dB 18.9 dB
Noise Margin 7.1 dB 8.5 dB

On the Billion I get just under 14 meg with tweaking.

But I knew I could get 980 on the sagem as my upload.

      Paul

Just looking through this thread & what I noticed was that your power readings are way down on what they should be. Mine is 18.4 down & 12.2 up. Yours at best is around 8 down & 10up.

I believe that could be an equipment fault at the exchange.
