I wonder if sky when they set my upload profile from 1.2 meg down to 1 meg, that is the reason why my upload speed won't budge.
I knew being on the conexant based LLU won't help with the broadcom routers but I know that if Sky put me on a 1.2 or 1.3 meg upload profile, I will sync at just less than 1 meg. Makes sense, now it is down to sky to do that for me!!!!

      Your downstream is not 'capped'.
Upstream is possibly capped at 800kbps, or it's currently uncapped but training in at a stable rate (due to the error counts). Only Sky could tell you what the upstream is set to.

My profile from the stats before indicate my upload profile is set at 1020.
If they raise this then I think I would see my upload return to what it has always been on this router 980kbps.

      Re: Errors with different setups

If it's already uncapped 1024, then lifting the cap further isn't going to do anything. The line will train in with a 7dB (or a little higher towards 8/9dB on upstream sometimes) SNR if it's stable. Thus, if it's already uncapped then it'll train in near to 1mbps if deemed stable.

I don't think so. That is the maximum speed the line will support in its present condition. Your line is capped at 800.

      Re: Errors with different setups

I asked sky to uncap me alongside my findings from today.
They were very reluctant to manually configure my line due to errors, and thought these errors were down to me. I have just proved today that it has nothing to do with my setup at all.

Fingers crossed I get back to 12.5 meg, 1 meg which I was on originally using the sagem router.

This may be a daft point, but if you are aware that Sky will be moving you on to their Broadcom equipment, isn't it pointless trying to get your speeds raised at the moment?

Certainly I would agree that identifying the cause of the noise/errors on your line is important, but when you move you line may go through DLM again.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Still could be a while before the move, so in the meantime, I want the best possible speeds on my line.

Plus when I do move, I have the 7800N which will sync very nicely with the broadcom based LLU, reason why I have just purchased it

      Re: Errors with different setups

Someone from sky phoned and I asked to be put on the 20 meg/1.3 meg profile which they eventually agreed to.

However looking at my stats, not much has improved:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 11892 kbps 853 kbps
Line Attenuation 35.5 dB 18.8 dB
Noise Margin 6.9 dB 11.5 dB

A little bit extra upload but still way below the 980 I was getting for months before.

      I GIVE UP!
