Is there anything I can improve here
We have the new Openreach faceplate with a sky filter plugged into that, modem on one end of standard sky grey cable, and phone on end of extension.
Is there anything I can improve here at all? I have quite high attinuation of 46dB and my noise margin isn't great either.

Do you have phone extensions?
Post your stats from the Test socket.

Does the Openreach faceplate even have a test socket?

Re: Is there anything I can improve here
If it is an Openreach master, then it will have. Click the 'How to test link'.

OK, Thanks, I didn't mean to come across as an ass
I'll do a quick test with it now. I have an extension socket upstairs that isn't in use from previous tenants if that counts

Re: Is there anything I can improve here
An extension can interfere whether it is used or not. It should be connected to the faceplate of the master socket. If it is and you don't want to use it, just pull the wires off the faceplate and tuck them out of the way. If they are not connected to the faceplate, you will have to find out where they are connected and disconnect them from there.

Re: Is there anything I can improve here
Thank you so much for your help. I can't do anything right now unfortunately as my roommate has fallen asleep in the room where the master socket is xD

Re: Is there anything I can improve here
If by Openreach faceplate you mean an Openreach NTE5 then this is fitted with a bellwire filter. Any hard wired extensions are filtered as far as bell wire interfernce goes BUT if the cable is poor quality these extensions are not isolated from the ADSL signal. To do that you need a filtered faceplate.
