Made a start today. Got the junction box fitted and wired, cable laid from kitchen to door way and floor sealed properly in kitchen (was poorly done! Shocking!)
Tomorrow refit skirting and run cable to master socket.

      Job done!
All wiring done, new socket with filter fitted along with new junction box!
      Piece of cake!
Rung sky and speed is now 13meg.
      Very happy indeed!

And for good measure we decorated the kitchen as skirting was off!

I'll get a mini diary in the form of pictures later or tomorrow.

Thanks again everyone for the help.
Literally couldn't have done it without your help.

Those figures look much better now.

A good excuse to pop out to a certain chippy nearby I reckon!

The upstream could be increased a little, but you may have fun getting someone to do that last piece.

      Lol.
How can the upstream be increased? What difference would it make to me?

If you are in the habit of sending large files or emails to people, these will be sent a little faster.

The maximum upstream connection that Sky would be able to provide for you would be around 1-1.2Mb. Currently you have just under 0.8Mb.

A friendly phone call may be able to unlock that little extra in your case.

      Ah I see.
Would be of no benefit to me. I rarely send anything larger than a couple of meg.
