Re: Speed,Master Socket,Faceplate Help
Usually the blue pair, check what wires are going to 2 & 5 on the socket you want to plug the router into, these connect to A & B on the ADSL faceplate, NOT A & B on the NTE5!

Re: Speed,Master Socket,Faceplate Help
Extension for router-wire to A & B, use new socket or existing socket with plug in filter at other end. ALL other extensions-wire to 2, 3 & 5, NO NEED for plug in filters. Don't bother disconnecting 3-it's isolated from the ADSL signal & will make ZERO difference.

Re: Help with wiring
I wish members would not join in threads, all it does is cause confusion. It is no more difficult to start your own thread than hijacking another's.

Re: Help with wiring
You have to understand how filtered faceplates work. Under normal circumstances the wires to your extensions would be connected to the 235 terminals on the faceplate. This isolates all your wiring from the ADSL port, which is in effect a direct connection to the main incoming line and no filters are required on any of your extension sockets. If you connect to the AB terminals on the faceplate you are bypassing the filter and connecting directly to the incoming line. What you have done is made the filterplate next to useless, the only filtering you have now is on the phone port of the filtered faceplate. All your extensions now require to be individually filtered.
As you have introduced more wiring, your extension, your speed is more likely to drop than increase. The best and most stable speed you will get is from the ADSL port on the faceplate.
