Yes it is a twin master socket with only one side in use. Fitting an NTE5 socket with a filtered plate would get the best out of your line.

What you can try is temporary disconnecting your extensions and just leave the incoming wires connected. Take your stats and that is about a good as it is going to get. I have my doubts that it is your internal wiring which is causing the errors, but trying this will rule it out completely.

Replace with NTE5, "1" goes to A & B on the NTE5, fit ADSL faceplate, "2" goes to filtered connections, "3" goes to unfiltered.

      Re: Speed,Master Socket,Faceplate Help

Thanks for all your help - My m8 has managed to get me a Official BT Openreach NTE5 Master Socket.
I'm going to order a filtered faceplate, either a Austin Taylor or a XTE-2005

I've just fitted my BT Master Socket - Here's my Router Stats with the router plugged into the Test Socket
Speed test speeds have gone from 2.5 meg to 4.3 meg - Router even faster
I've got a Austin Taylor Filtered Faceplate to fit yet when it arrives
