      Extension wiring help

      Hi Guys,

Can someone point me in the right direction I am not even sure if what I am trying to do is possible with the Hardware i currently have.

I have an NTE5 fitted with a BTADSLFP6W I purchased from Run-IT Direct I have hardwired it using cat5e cable, using 1 pair connected to the A/B IDC terminals and 1 pair connected to IDC terminals 2&5.

At the other end of the CAT5e I have a filtered ADSL faceplate I was given that has 6 screw terminals on the back, if I connect the pair to 2&5 on the filterd extension I have a dial tone but what I cant figure out is where or how I connect the second pair in order to have the phone and ADSL working at the same time in the socket.

      Can anyone advise on this

Thanks in advance for any help

You can only have 1 filtered plate on the same line and it should be at the primary socket location.

      Thanks for the quick reply,

Ok so I guess I need to get a non filtered faceplate with IDC connections for the ADSL and phone connection then I should be able to get them working at the same time ?

      Re: Extension wiring help

If the other faceplate you have is like this:-

BT Socket, Master, ADSL Filtered With RJ45/RJ11

The you connect one pair to A & B on the rear of the faceplate on the NTE5 & at the other end connect to 2 & 5. You do not need to connect unfiltered & filtered connections to the other faceplate!
run-IT-direct, For all your networking, ADSL & telecom requirements.
