Hmm, well really you want it sorting prior to DLM kicking in, the problem you will have is if it all works it will be a chargeable call out......
TBH if the external connections are in good shape then i would worry about fitting an NTE5 internally and sorting out your wiring. BT lines go through MANY external connections on route from the exchange.....run-IT-direct, For all your networking, ADSL & telecom requirements.

Re: No NTE5 or master
I probably won't plug the router in until it's sorted, either way. Maybe I'll give Sky a call tonight and tell them what a state the wiring is in.

Re: No NTE5 or master
Contact sky to advise them a visit is esential on the day of your install. BT Openreach will do the install but don't always visit as they can activate the line remotely. Ensure they come to the flat that day and then you can choose where to have the master socket. The dial tone is coming into the house where the small rectangular shape thing is and they can either but the master socket there or run a cable from there to some wehre else in the house (where you choose) when doing thisd all other extensions will be disconnected so you can rip off the wall when your decorasting. BT Openrach will install an NTE 5 so once this is in you can add any extensions yourself then.. Just insist on a visit if the line goes live without one and you have a working socket Sky will struggle to get BT out to do any work. As a general rule sky can't order an enginner to do extensions etc. I no Ive rambled a bit here but if you want me to explain any more or clearer post a reply in the next day or 2.

Re: No NTE5 or master
Sky are under no obligation to sort this out unless you are now on SkyTalk, even then it's their decision to send OR out or not. I imagine they will but don't expect it

Re: No NTE5 or master
Success! Openreach came yesterday and ran a new cable straight from the BT66B into the property, terminated at a BT80A. I was glad the he completely bypassed and forgot about the BT18. He then ran a new cable to an NTE5 master. It couldn't have gone more smoothly!
