      master phone point

I get my line rental and calls from sky. My master phone point is pretty bashed up and I was thinking about replacing it. My questions are

      1) can I do this legally?

      2) who would I need to speak to BT or sky if its not legal

      3) where would I get the correct part, I have seen lots about adsl bits and bobs

It ISN'T illegal to do this! However it can be deemed against the T&C's of the line provision. However(!) call BT in India & see what they say They are openly saying customers can replace the master socket with a decorative one if they wish! The short & sweet version is replace like for like (or if non NTE5 fittered currently FIT ONE!), ie, an NTE5. No Openreach engineer will be bothered.

Get the one from Run IT Direct, you may find cheaper ones but they will not have the quality. If you have extensions wired into it also get a filtered faceplate and use it to connect your broadband..
