      Master Socket query

Hi I have three telephone sockets which all look the same. Ie with white faceplates, no "groove" through the middle just a plain white front, but all with a letter T in the bottom right hand corner. Before I unscrew each one, is this normal?I thought at least one of them should be different and identifyable as the master? Apologies no picture but I am having connection problems at home but Im at work at present

      thanks

      Re: Master Socket query

New installs tend to have the NTE5-type socket, older installs could just have the old facias. So long as you're sure there isn't a hidden master (under stairs perhaps) then you'd need to find where the incoming line is and the nearest box to that should be the master

      Re: Master Socket query

The master will have a capacitor and other bit 'n pieces. Are you in a new build, some of these have an external NTE with no real master socket inside?

I doubt a new build will have faceplates with the old BT logo
