      Yes, at the outside box. You need an extension socket and a length of telephone wire (both from a DIY store, less than 5) Disconnect the existing wires from the terminals marked 2,5,and 3 and connect the extension socket to them using the wire you brought. connect 2 at the xnte, to 2 of the extension socket and 5 to 5, check you have a dial tone and test your BB from there. As Dave (from run-it direct) says, if it does not work from there then BB is not enabled on the line.

      Going back to your post 4, when you are connected to the router with a PC does the port light come on? If it doesn't then it may indeed be another dead router.
